Rules & Regulations

To ensure a safe and fun night for all guests, both two-legged and four-legged, please review the following rules before you arrive.

 

Types of Dogs Not Permitted
For the safety of all, we cannot allow entry to the following dogs:

  • Puppies under 4 months old
  • Sick dogs or those with active injuries (stitches, bandages, etc.)
  • Female dogs in heat
  • Dogs that show signs of aggression toward other dogs or people

 

For Your Dog
Proof of Health — For the safety of all animals, your dog must be up-to-date on the following:

  • Required vaccinations: Rabies, Canine Parvovirus
  • Annual physical exam from a licensed veterinarian

 

Proper Gear:

  • A well-fitting collar must be worn at all times. Electric collars are not permitted.
  • Dogs must remain leashed at all times, even while riding in a carrier or stroller.
  • Leashes must be non-retractable and no more than 6 feet long.

 

For You (the Adult)

  • One dog per person: You may only bring and manage one dog at a time.
  • All dogs must be accompanied by a Pet Parent at least 18 years old.
  • Dogs are not permitted in indoor animal areas or restaurants.
  • Pet Parents are required to clean up after their dogs.
  • Adults must direct dogs to utilize designated relief areas to the best of their ability.

 

FAQs

  • Is there a waiver I need to sign?

    No. By purchasing a dog ticket, you are agreeing to abide by all rules and regulations.

  • What should I do if my dog needs a bathroom break?

    Please come prepared to clean up after your dog. Waste bags will be available at designated relief areas throughout the Zoo.

  • What if my dog barks?

    For the safety and comfort of our animals and guests, dogs that display excessive barking will be asked to leave without a refund.

  • What if my dog is uncomfortable around people or other dogs?

    Dogs After Dark is a high-traffic, social event. If your dog is not well-socialized or shows signs of stress, it’s best to leave them at home for their comfort and the comfort of our guests.

  • Can I still come if I don’t have a dog?

    Yes! All humans and dog lovers are welcome, with or without a dog!
