Giving Tree

Date

December 1
- December 31

The Zoo’s annual “Giving Tree,” decked out with sparkling lights and ornaments with animal wishes, is showcased in the U.S. Bank Gathering Place, December 1 – 31. A favorite holiday tradition, the “Giving Tree” encourages Zoo guests to give back with a gift, gift card, or monetary donation to their favorite animal.

The “Giving Tree” is decorated with handmade paper ornaments featuring animal enrichment requests from the zookeepers, ranging from quinoa to cologne. Enrichment is used to enhance all aspects of an animal’s wellbeing by addressing the behavioral, environmental, physical, psychological, and social needs of the species.

Guests can choose any ornament to take home and purchase the item listed. Or monetary donations are welcome and encouraged so the animal care staff can purchase high priority items for the animals. See list of this year’s animal wishes.
