Strategic Plan

The Milwaukee County Zoo is where our wild world thrives—and where our community comes alive.

For more than a century, the Milwaukee County Zoo (MCZ) and Zoological Society of Milwaukee (ZSM) have partnered together on projects, including building the Zoo at its current location, spanning 190 acres, as well as three prior capital campaigns focused on new animal habitats. Under a new shared vision, mission, and strategic plan, MCZ and ZSM are setting the Zoo up for additional future success and modernization, with one coalition leading the way.

“Our Zoo, Our Future” will align the organizations’ resources and activities around one overarching goal: to build, cultivate and sustain thriving communities that bring people, wildlife and wild places together — at the Zoo, throughout Wisconsin, across the United States, and with its partners around the world.

Our Zoo, Our Future
