  • Are tickets required for this event?

    Yes, pre-purchased tickets are required. Purchase them online here.

    Zoo Passes and previously purchased tickets are not valid for this special evening.

  • Do Zoo Pass members get a discount?

    Yes, Zoo Pass members save 15% with code halloween15 and their membership number.

  • Are tickets refundable or transferrable to a different night?

    Please purchase carefully, as tickets are not refundable and honored only on the evening for which you purchased them.

  • Are refunds provided if it’s raining?

    Boo at the Zoo is held rain or shine, and refunds are not provided.

  • Should my child wear a costume? Can adults wear costumes?

    Costumes are encouraged but are not required! Adults are welcome to wear costumes — please remember this is a family-friendly event and we ask that all costumes are appropriate for small children and delightful, not frightful.

  • Is there trick or treating?

    Yes, there are 10 treat stops along the Trick-or-Treat Trail. Please remember your trick-or-treat bag (bags are not provided)!

    Allergy-friendly options are also available.

  • Is this event family-friendly?

    Yes! Decorations include scarecrows, light shows, the Candy Corn Farmer’s Market, hundreds of carved pumpkins, and more.

  • What animals can we see?

    These animal buildings are open for Boo at the Zoo:

    • Aquatic & Reptile Center
    • Dairy Complex
    • Florence Mila Borchert Big Cat Country
    • Primates of the World
    • Small Mammals Building
    • Sterns Family Apes of Africa

     

    For their health and safety, outdoor animals are not viewable.

  • Are the concession stands open?

    Yes, food and beverages are available throughout the Zoo.
