Diversity is nature’s greatest strength. It should be ours too. This unique event highlights nature’s diversity and focuses on increasing our connection to both nature and community. The fun includes exploring a section of the Zoo’s forest and browsing a sustainability market!

Highlights include:
Sapling Handout – Herb & Nada Mahler Family Aviary entrance: Learn about the importance of diversity in forests. Take home your very own white spruce sapling to plant in your yard! (Limited supplies available).
Conservation Action Matching Game – Macaque Island: Match the conservation action with the effect and animal that it benefits. Learn how these actions can make a big difference in protecting wildlife and the places they call home.
Animal Biofacts– Macaque Island: Discover animal biofacts (also known as artifacts) from around the world.
Animal Adaptations – Macaque Island: Learn about physical adaptations that animals have and how these adaptations help them navigate their environment and survive. Leave your own mark (handprint) on the environment.
Biodiversity Guessing Game– Aviary Rain Garden (in front of pond): Guess how many species are represented in an ecosystem and learn how they work together.
Wisconsin Forest Safari – Aquatic & Reptile Center: Explore a section of the Zoo’s forest and discover the biodiversity within our grounds! You’ll learn how to identify species and help us uncover some of the plants and animals that live among us.
Become A Community Scientist – Flamingos: Learn how you can support wildlife by paying attention to the world around you.
Pollinator Palooza – Flamingos: Discover ways to help bumblebees, monarch butterflies, and other pollinators in your backyard.
