Operation Freedom

Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker thanks our Armed Forces members and veterans for their service. All Armed Forces members and veterans in Wisconsin are invited to bring their immediate families to enjoy the Zoo on Sunday, July 5.

Wristbands are required for entrance to the Zoo and festivities, and are limited to the first 15,000. Contact your local County Veterans Service Office to obtain wristbands between May 4 – June 19. Requests made after June 19 will be placed on a Will Call list to be picked up on Sunday, July 5, 2009 at the Shuttle/Will Call lot. Additional parking with shuttle service will be available at 10320 West Watertown Plank Road (Hwy 45 & Watertown Plank Rd.). Shuttles will run every 15 minutes from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Your wristband includes admission, parking, picnic lunch and attractions. A picnic lunch is available 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  A patriotic program will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the south parking lot.  The Supermarket of Veterans Benefits will be hosted by the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the US Gathering Place.

New this year! A special raffle - tickets are $1.00 each, 6/$5.00.

Prizes include:  Airfare for Two, Flat-screen TV, Bose Wave Music System, Hotel Get-away packages, Gift cards, and additional prizes.  Raffle tickets available the day of event at the Zoo.

The Zoo will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
